The event brought together key players from the financial ecosystem, including fintech companies, financial institutions, technology firms, and international organizations. The event highlighted emerging trends such as artificial intelligence in financial services, opportunities from open banking to boost the competitiveness of the Honduran financial market, electronic payments, and new digital credit solutions to promote financial inclusion. Additionally, the event facilitated connections between entrepreneurs and investment programs, positioning Honduras as a regional Fintech Hub. During the gathering, conferences and panels were held on strategic topics and success stories in the Honduran fintech sector.
The CNBS was represented by Licenciada Alba Mej铆a, Head of the Department of Financial Inclusion and Gender, and Licenciado Jos茅 Rolando Vega, Head of the Department of Financial Competition and Innovation. Their participation focused on the presentation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (ENIF) Honduras 2025-2030, highlighting its strategic framework, core pillars, and focus on segments historically excluded from the financial system.
During the presentation, two strategic pillars of the ENIF were emphasized:
- Strengthen the regulatory framework, aimed at modernizing and reinforcing data protection and cybersecurity regulations as an enabler for the digital transformation of financial services.
- Promote digital transformation and the use of new technologies, with the aim of expanding the coverage of digital financial services in urban and rural areas, achieving interoperability of the national payment system, and including fintech in the regulated ecosystem, among other things.
The role of the Financial Innovation Hub of the CNBS was also highlighted as a key initiative to promote a safe, inclusive Fintech environment that is conducive to the development of technological solutions in the financial sector.
The participation of the CNBS reaffirms its commitment to financial inclusion and innovation, in line with its institutional vision of contributing to the country’s economic and social development through equitable, sustainable, and secure access to formal financial products and services.
