The National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS), represented by Licenciada Marcela Herrera, Manager of Financial Inclusion and Gender, participated on June 3 in the Technical Meeting of the Financial Inclusion Initiative for Latin America and the Caribbean (FILAC) 2026, organized by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI).
During the virtual meeting, the FILAC 2026-2028 Work Plan was presented and analyzed, which includes initiatives on financial education, gender equality, and financial inclusion of migrants.

As part of her participation, Licenciada Herrera moderated session 3 of working group 1, focused on reviewing the results of the document “From Diagnosis to Action: Promoting the Implementation of Roadmaps for Financial Inclusion.” Additionally, the participants identified priority actions from the regional roadmap and defined feasible measures for their execution during the 2027-2029 period.
Likewise, the dialogue among FILAC member countries allowed for the exchange of experiences and the exploration of joint efforts to strengthen the impact of the proposed actions. The importance of strengthening the technical capacities and skills of AFI regional members was also highlighted.

Licenciada Herrera concluded the technical meeting and provided those present with a summary of what was covered during it. She also indicated that FILAC is a space of great relevance for the regional agenda and expressed gratitude to the attendees for their participation and commitment to continue advancing towards a more inclusive region with greater opportunities for everyone.

It is a regional initiative aimed at promoting inclusive growth and reducing poverty through sustainable financial inclusion policies. Additionally, it is a unique regional financial inclusion platform in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) that leverages the collective experience and knowledge of financial policymakers, regulators, and partners.
