The National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS), through Licenciada Alba Mejía, Head of Department of the Management of Education and Financial and Gender Inclusion, participated from May 21 to 23, 2026, in Tela, Atlántida, in the Regional and National Exchange “To Participate or to Care? Why Do We Keep Choosing?”, organized by UN Women.

The activity was carried out within the framework of the project Support for the Electoral Cycle in Honduras for Transparent Elections, financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with UN Women. The event brought together women leaders in politics: deputies, mayors, councilors, representatives of civil society, public officials, representatives of electoral bodies, women’s organizations, and international agencies, with the aim of creating spaces for dialogue and exchange on the challenges women face to strengthen their political participation and advance toward more equitable care systems.

During the day, spaces for reflection and analysis were developed aimed at the construction of proposals that contribute to strengthening women’s leadership and participation in decision-making spaces.

With this participation, the National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS) strengthens its institutional commitment to inclusion, gender equality, and the promotion of initiatives that contribute to strengthening women’s leadership and participation in decision-making spaces.
