The National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS) took part in the Global Policy Forum (GPF) 2026 of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), held from September 1 to 4, 2026, in the city of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Under the theme “Resilient Economies, Inclusive Future,” the forum brought together representatives from regulators and supervisors, financial institutions, and development entities from around the world to share experiences and promote policies that drive more sustainable, resilient, and innovative financial inclusion.

On August 11, 2026, the President Commissioner of the National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS), Lawyer Nicolás J. García Pineda, together with Commissioner Gustavo Solórzano and the Director of the Commissioners’ Office, Lawyer Alejandro Pineda, participated in the event “The Gap in Numbers: Financing and Women’s Enterprises in Honduras,” where the main results of the Survey on MSMEs in Honduras regarding financial products and services, conducted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in partnership with the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) and in collaboration with the CNBS, were presented.

The National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS) wrapped up on July 25, 2026, the first Financial Journalism Course: 'Moving Towards Financial Education and Inclusion for Everyone.' Over 8 weeks, this academic initiative strengthened the skills of 34 Honduran journalists in areas related to supervision, regulation, and the functioning of the national financial system.
